Bait and Switch

Last Friday's Star Wars d20 session was absolutely amazing... see, Halik had been captured by bounty hunters, and Elryn - that's me - was the only one who was even remotely capable of springing him out of there. So they're almost out, and UH OH BOSS FIGHT! Elryn gets off one shot and then takes a critical hit and passes out, Halik (who's just learning to control the Force) goes all Anakin-Skywalker-vs-Sandpeople on the guy's face, and when Elryn comes to, she's totally incapable of fighting and in desperate need of medical attention. So back to base we go, and the session ends...

...and Plangkye got an idea - an awful idea. Plangkye got a wonderful, awful idea.

See, Halik had the potential to be a great character, but unfortunately our GM isn't particularly friendly to what Halik was supposed to be. Had the circumstances been different, he would have been an excellent love interest for Elryn, since they have so much in common - hatred of Hutts, altruism-without-great-morals, high loyalty to the Rebellion, social ineptitude, and a bunch of stuff, really. But as it is... well, that up there is the primary reason Elryn saved Halik's life.
