A Rude Awakening

"You were gone for so long," Magus said to the girl, fingers entwined in her long, braided hair. "I thought you would never come back from your other world." He gave her a rare smile, which she returned.

"Wake up," she said.

Mildly confused, Magus unconsciously knit his brow. "Pardon?"

"Wake up, damn it!" she said again, her tone of voice not matching her face at all.

"I'm afraid I don't --"

"Honestly!" she continued. "Every single morning -- you'd think a wizard wouldn't be the kind of person to sleep in all the time. Come on, you've been sleeping ages longer than the rest of us!"

Yes, I know this technically neither "animals" nor "de-aged" as the Theme Number 25 called for, but I couldn't stop thinking of Oougel, the escaped product of the bad guys' mad science, as Mewtwo. C'mon, man, they're the same freakin' character.

As for the rest, we have Hour Thief as Haunter because stealing time is creepy, Zarp as Charizard because dragons, Timesplice as Celebi for fairly obvious reasons, Muppy as Aggron the resident really big smashy guy, Kitai as the ever-effective Ninjask, and Psi-Dome as Metagross because it has four silicon-based brains that are powerful enough to warp reality. And it can hover, too.
