It's been a long time since I've drawn myself with a fictional character; much longer if you don't count the times I did it as a joke.
Four days left of City of Heroes, and then Edmund disappears... I love him, as much as any author has ever loved a creation (not that I don't love Oougel too, but she isn't a hugger), and it hurts so much that I have to say goodbye.
Very moving piece the emotion is very strong, your Edmund looks beautiful. He seem so strong, wishing to comfort you, saying goodby, but also a quite graceful acceptance about him too. He feel so real here. Your lines are beautiful, and it's just perfect the black and white. Great impact.
In the face of something he really couldn't change, I just can't even begin to think of him doing anything else. I'm glad that came through. At the game's end I felt like he was about to face a firing squad - not that a firing squad would keep him down for long, technically, but the idea is there.
*Ack I am so late in replying! D:* I can understand that, it's sad that it was shut down and as I understand kinda wasn't necessary as it was still making a profit too? Poor Edmund is stuck in some kind of character/creative-limbo now
The worst part is how completely out-of-the-blue the shutdown was. The development team was laid off while the next big content update was being advertized, during the actual beta for that content.
It really stings seeing you in this much pain and knowing I can't do anything about it.
But at least with all the art you've done of him here, a piece of him will live on. And you can still draw him, of course. Maybe over time, his ties to the lore will fade?
And if he can't find the time, he'll steal some for himself.

I miss so many of my heroes already.

Thank you for sharing this.
