WHO REMEMBERS THIS SHOW?

I was feeling nostalgic for the time when American cartoons were actually good, and thought "Man, Jackie Chan Adventures was so awesome... I should watch it again." So I started it up, recalling the amazingness that was what would have happened if Indiana Jones had been a Jackie Chan movie instead of what it really is (please note, Indiana Jones is still awesome just the way he is, just a different kind of awesome) - ninja fights over ancient magic artifacts, Uncle's general hilariousness, and Tohru... ogod, Tohru. ILU TOHRU I thought, "This show is EXACTLY as awesome as I remembered."

And then, the other, forgotten reason I watched it: "Dude... Valmont is kinda hot."

So I drew him, contemplating his tea while he waits for Finn, Chow, and Ratso to come back with the first talisman. Yes, Shendu was bigger in the actual series, but I preferred that he should fit on the page. Also, translating the super-exaggerated original drawing style of Valmont's design into any half-natural human facial structure was... interesting. I think I did all right. Also, am I the only one who's ever looked at him and thought that he could be evidence of some scandalous indiscretions from the Malfoy family?

Please note, I don't really fangirl him - I love him as a character, the same as Darth Vader or Clara. He may not be bad to look at, but he has absolutely no honor and not a charming bone in his body, and as a villain... I mean, you get involved with him, and he'll use you, demean you, throw you away when he's tired of you, and slap you around a bit along the way. No thanks! But dear god, was he a good villain... WHY DID YOU TAKE HIM AWAY FROM ME IN LATER SEASONS, WRITERS? I LOVED HIM! And then in season five they took away the Enforcers, too... the villains in that season were some of the worst I've ever seen; there's no love-to-hate-them, I just wanted them all to shut up and die. God was that season disappointing.

Bah. VILLAINS MOTIVATED SOLELY BY GREED ARE GREAT AND IF YOU DON'T THINK SO YOU MUST BE STUPID.
